Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at events@snakeriverranch.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes. All events require a planner to ensure smooth coordination. Full-service planning is

required for ceremony and reception bookings. Day-of coordination is acceptable for

ceremony-only bookings or events under 80 guests. Planner contact information must be

provided approximately one month prior to the event.

Yes. We are happy to offer venue tours for serious inquiries. Before scheduling a tour, we ask that you share the name of your event planner or who you are considering working with. Please contact us to arrange a showing, and we’ll coordinate a time that works.

We offer multiple unique venue options, each with stunning views of the Teton Range:

Johnson 40 – up to 300 guests, amplified sound

Giltner – up to 300 guests, amplified sound

Sewell – up to 300 guests, amplified sound

Headquarters – up to 100 guests, amplified sound

Gray Barn – up to 150 guests, acoustic sound only

NOTE: Snake River Ranch is a venue-only property. We provide the land and location for your event but do not provide tents, furniture, restrooms, catering, or other rental items.

Yes. All guests must be shuttled to the venue; personal guest vehicles are not permitted on-site. Up to three personal vehicles may be used for transporting the wedding party. We do not have space for guest parking at our venues.

Once your contract is signed, the venue is reserved for your event date regardless of weather. You may delay the ceremony to allow weather to pass, but county sound regulations still apply. Refunds are not issued for weather-related cancellations, so we strongly recommend renting a tent as a backup. We do not offer indoor event spaces. While the Gray Barn is accessible, it is designated as a historic structure and cannot be used for seated dinners. Guests may walk through and enjoy the space. For weather contingencies, a tent is required.

Fire features are subject to county burn bans, which are common from August through October. The Gray Barn includes a designated fire pit area. Propane fire rings may be permitted when no burn ban is in effect and with prior approval. All fire features must protect the grass underneath, and the Ranch reserves the right to restrict fires as necessary. Fireworks and sparklers are not permitted. Confetti, rice, and other difficult-to-clean materials are not allowed. Sky lanterns are prohibited. Approved alternatives include flameless LED sparklers, flashlight or lantern exits, and ribbon or fabric wand send-offs.

Pets are generally not permitted. An exception may be made for the personal dog of the bride or groom, provided the dog remains leashed at all times and receives prior approval from the Ranch Event Coordinator.

No, we do not offer on-site lodging. Snake River Ranch is located just two miles from Teton Village, with many nearby accommodations including Hotel Terra, Teton Mountain Lodge, and the Four Seasons.

To respect property policies and county regulations, all wedding guest must begin vacating the event site by 10 pm.

A payment equal to fifty percent (50%) of the venue fee, along with the required security deposit, is due at the time the contract is signed to secure your event date. The remaining fifty percent (50%) of the venue fee is due 90 days after the contract is executed. Please note that for balances totaling less than $10,000, full payment (100%) of the venue fee will be required at the time of contract signing. We accept checks mailed to our office and ACH payments made directly through your invoice. Wire transfer information is available upon request.

Yes. Our contract requires a minimum of $1,000,000 in bodily injury coverage per claimant and $300,000 in property damage coverage per occurrence. Proof of insurance must be provided prior to the event. Many clients use WedSafe.com (typically around $200), which lists our ranch and automatically includes the required additional insured parties. You may use any insurance provider of your choosing.

The security deposit (amount varies by venue) is fully refundable, provided the venue is left in good condition, all rental items and trash are removed, and no damage has occurred. Please email us after your event with your current mailing address so we can issue your refund check.

We offer a limited number of ceremony-only bookings each year. These bookings include one hour and thirty minutes on the ranch for the ceremony. Vendor and staff access begins the day of the event, and all items must be removed by 8:00 PM the same day. Ceremony-only bookings do not include time for a dinner or reception.

As a venue-only property, you are welcome to use any vendors you choose. We are happy

to share our preferred vendor list, as many local vendors are familiar with our venues and

policies. For full ceremony and reception bookings, you will have access the day before for setup and the day after for teardown and cleanup. For ceremony-only bookings, vendor access begins the day of the event, and everything must be removed by 8:00 PM that evening.

Sound policies vary by venue. Johnson 40, Giltner (full events), Sewell, and Headquarters allow amplified sound. The Gray Barn is acoustic only—no speakers or microphones are permitted, though live acoustic musicians are welcome. Ceremony-only bookings at any venue are limited to acoustic sound. Amplified sound must end at 9:59 PM per county regulations. Guests must depart by 10:00 PM unless otherwise approved in advance by the Event Coordinator.

Power availability varies by venue. Johnson 40 and Giltner offer on-site power. All other venues require clients to arrange generator rentals. The Gray Barn has very limited power.

Headquarters provides power and water for restroom trailers only.

Yes. All guests must be shuttled to the venue; personal guest vehicles are not permitted on-site. Up to three personal vehicles may be used for transporting the wedding party. We do not have space for guest parking at our venues.

Snake River Ranch is located approximately two miles from Teton Village and about twelve

miles from the Town of Jackson. Travel time from Teton Village hotels is typically 20–30 minutes. The Sewell venue is located south of Wilson—approximately 25 minutes from Teton Village and 30 minutes from downtown Jackson Hole.

Our venues do not have permanent restroom facilities. Clients must rent portable restrooms. Several local vendors offer luxury restroom trailers, which are a popular option.

Alcohol service is permitted. Clients are responsible for complying with Wyoming liquor laws, including using properly licensed bartenders if required. Many caterers can manage beverage service as part of their package.

Most ceremonies take place around 4:00 PM, which allows ample time for the remainder of the event. Please account for 20–30 minutes of travel time to Jackson or Teton Village.

Yes. For bookings that include day-before access, a small rehearsal may be held. Rehearsals should be limited to the wedding party only.
